Dabi x Reader/Sibling PLATONIC.
REQUEST ARE OPEN
Tumblr media
Quirk: Opposite of Dabi/Toya you had an ice quirk stronger than your mothers and the rest of your siblings, but your body had little to no resistance. It was built for extensive heat, causing you to get frostbite damaging your skin.
You are the second oldest being born not long after your big brother Toya and he was your best friend.
Endevor quickly realized you were a “mistake” leaving you to a similar fate to your brother. You'd found peace with your body's scars by learning how to manage your power on your own and how to heal them properly.
You had run away awhile ago finding yourself resentful of your father and in turn hateful of the heroes who allowed you to be discarded and abused by the now number 1 hero. You had stumbled across the LOV a while ago and had been a help given your healing talent and had a mass interest in taking down endeavor.
You sat at the bar with Kurogiri asking him to make you a drink before Dabi sat next to you taking it away. “You definitely look too young to be drinking kid” He said, pulling it further away from your reach. “Fuck off scar face” You spat reaching over him taking back your drink, his eyes looked so familiar, you couldnt help but stair “Got a problem, if so speak now or forever hold you peace” He said pushing you away and placing your drink Infront of you “If its about the drink i was just fucking with you, no need to get hostile” he said putting his hand above his head.
"No, you just look familiar. Not your face but your eyes, it's stupid.” You said taking your drink and walking away. “I'm going on a walk, tell crusty i'll be back” you said b-linging it for the door shaking.
“Nah he’ll be fine not knowing, I'll go with you kid” You finch at the sudden familiarity in his voice. “Don't fucking call me kid. I'm not your fucking kid.” You said snapping at him grabbing his wrist coving it in a thin layer of ice. He pulls away, raising his hand in a surrendering motion following you out the door.
You walked around for a while feeling the cold of the air around you, the weather app said it was going to freeze and snow but you’d honestly forgot it was starting to get cold, too cold. You started shaking and wrapped your arms around yourself refusing to go back to base yet. “Are you shaking because you're cold or because you think I'm gonna kill you?"
He said, crossing his arms. “The first one” you said while looking around for a store to buy a jacket. "Bit strange for someone with an ice quirk but okay."
You pulled out your phone. The lock screen was a photo of you and Toya side by side holding hands smiling at the camera. It was probably the only photo you had of the two of you together not covered in scars.
“Nice wallpaper for a villain” He said, snatching your phone to get a better look. You froze his feet in place reaching for the phone. “Give it back. I’m not fucking playing games with you Dabi” you said, he was taller than you but that didn't stop you from trying to jump to get the phone back. “Where the fuck did you get this photo.” he spat using his fire to break away the ice and grab your face. “It me and you brother fuck is it to you?” he put you down shoving your phone in your hands “You’ve go to be fucking shitting me ” You were about to yell at him again before he stopped you “All this time you must have thought i was dead huh?” you look at him confused “what..? I'm so confused” He pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket, it was the same photo but more crumbed and worn. You looked at him then at the subtle white roots of his hair. “Shit” you said, feeling the wave or realization hit you feeling tears form in your eyes “Who would've thought we both end up villains?” He said before seeing the tears falling from your face. “Hey, let's take down that shit stain of a hero together okay?” He took his jacket off, placing it on your shoulders.

Small itty bitty angst request that came to me after reading one of your dabi and teen reader fics. So this request is based off the one where teen reader gets hurt by endevor but hear me out. Maybe endevor gets teen reader like he ends up killing them and dabi finds their body? How would he react? If you’re comfortable with this ask.
-dawn dish soap anon
A/N: I forgot how much I love writing angst xd. Thanks for the request, I changed the concept a bit but I hope that's okay.
-S
+200ish words.
TW/CW: um..., well reader dies so that and Dabi being sad and angsty and Endeavour.
Tumblr media
Dabi had seen a lot in his relatively short life.
He had been hurt more than anyone should be.
And you had been a constant in his life for a long time. Taking you under his wing was his way to help a teen, something that no one did for him.
Dabi didn’t want you to be a part of the violence and fighting. You were just a kid after all.
But he couldn’t stop you even if he tried. You had made up your mind and Dabi just had to live with it.
He wasn’t even there for you in your last moments, he had been off of the city for another mission.
When Dabi heard of the incident... he saw red.
~~~
Seeing your body broke him. Inside and out, it broke him like nothing else.
And every second that he looked at your body made his anger for his father grow larger. Endeavour had taken Dabi’s own childhood, destroyed his family and now Dabi had lost a part of the new family that he built had for himself.
Dabi will avenge you even if that’s not what you would have wanted.
He will burn down everything that his father had ever loved or earned for you.
Endevoris flashback of Touya perfectly shows just how unreliable Endevor is as a narrator only focusing on the rose colored memories ignoring the harm he created
I apologize for the long post, but this is one of my favorite topics in the manga and I have so much to say about it. Thank you for sending this asks!!
Horikoshi did something clever with the whole Dabi backstory. It's not been animated yet, but there's a part where Touya's past is told by all the Todorokis and there you can see better how all of them are unreliable narrators.
Horikoshi shows you as much.
Enji's point of view is rather ignorant of Touya's real suffering. He didn't understand back then why Touya wouldn't stop or why he was so upset. He didn't take the time to find out either. He just focused back on his career and discarded Touya as another child for Rei to take care of.
Touya's crime was... Being a kid. That's it. Enji was the one who basically showed Touya that their bonding time as father and son was their training. When Enji abandoned that, Touya still wanted a bond with his dad and couldn't accept the fact he was no longer worthy or important to his father. What Enji could see as "my child is being difficult on purpose" was indeed the manifestation of a very common trait for a kid: I want attention.
Enji and Touya had good memories. Those only made the whole thing worst tho. Touya now knew how his father attention felt like and he could identify when Enji was not really into it. That means Enji couldn't lie to Touya anymore, not like he was lying to himself. Touya was so clever of a kid that he even picked on the problem of his parents marriage and didn't doubt on pointing it out to Rei. Of course she is a victim, but for little Touya she is also the woman that's suppose to protect him and by agreeing to follow Enji's plan, Touya mind thought she was to blamed for a different sin.
What Horikoshi shows us through Enji's post is deadly important because that's how you learn that Enji still doesn't know his kid. Not Dabi, not the person he is now. Enji doesn't know the Touya of his memories, he still doesn't know why the accident in Sekoto Peak happened, why and how he failed Touya.
To make it simpler: Enji saw Touya die and instead of it being a sign of how he was doing something wrong, he became worst with Shoto and Rei, he became even more abusive, and he kept on his abuse to Shoto to the point Deku himself called him out for it. The way he trained Shoto means that he never thought he was doing something wrong, but rather that he was training the wrong child.
Now, this is all very evident in the manga, but you need to read the information the author gave you, connect the points and understand what is said beyond the explicit. This is even more important in the manga, where the panels are reduce and you have to condense your story in meaningful poses and speech bubbles and have to convey emotion and intention thoroughly with visuals.
What every Todoroki remembers is distorted. Yes, even Dabi's memories. Their feelings shape their memories and what we're really seeing is how they felt back then, as well as how they feel right now.
So yeah, you're totally right and I hope every one is ready understands why.
I think people didn’t understand the context of the scene is that Endevor views his own fathers action, he views his action of saving the girl but getting killed as a failure He treats his fathers failure as his own but about him he was looking down on him for it the example would be in how he Calls his corpses of Lump of meat. There was no empathy or understanding towards the father's actions, just his reaction. This scene is focused on how Enji feels than his own father's feelings.
Hum...
...I'm not sure what triggered this ask (maybe this reply to another ask?) but the charming part of a manga being a narrative and visual story is that, unless the text or the author say something explicit, the rest is up to interpretation.
So, unless I'm backed up by Horikoshi's statements or by something factual in the manga, I can't tell others how a scene MUST be read, just list various possible readings or merely my own.
For example you say Enji calls his father's corpse a lump of meat because he looks down on him.
It's an interpretation. Another possible interpretation is that it's merely a factual description of his father's remains along with the girl's remains (he calls them both lump of meats) as the area is devasted as if a great explosion has taken place, Enji's father's body could have been mangled beyond recognition and Enji seems to be in shock.
Tumblr media
People in shock can distance themselves in this way by refusing to accept what remains of their beloved is what once was their beloved in a 'that's not my father, that's a lump of meat'... or just by being coldly factual because they find relief in it.
Am I trying to say THIS IS THE CORRECT INTERPRETATION? How should I know? This is just a possible interpretation and I'm not Horikoshi.
It stands on equal ground with all the possible interpretations.
We don't know how was Enji's relationship with his father, if he loved the guy or hated the guy, we don't even know if his father was a Hero or just a common person, if he was a well known coward who had a sudden moment of heroism but lacked the ability to save people or a braggart who liked to claim he could defeat any villain with ease.
Everything is possible.
If we analize the scene from a visual perspective, Enji's eyes are wide open and with no pupils inside, which is generally the visual used to represent shock. The rain on his face can be viewed as symbolically representing tears, and therefore sadness.
So if we extrapolate from the visual Enji felt shock and sadness at his father's death but, again, this is not written in stone, this is an analysis done by comparing Enji's image to similar ones and extrapolating from it the recurring visual tropes and their meaning.
Again, it's interpretation, nothing is factual, people are free to disagree.
Narratively though, the scene is shown in relation to a discussion about weakness, or, more specifically, about Enji's innate weakness (生来の弱さ seirai no yowasa), not about failure.
Enji's themes were always tied with "strenght" (強い 'tsuyoi') and its opposite, "weakness" (弱い 'yowai'), the one tied to a theme of failure, or more specifically of "failed work/creation" (失敗作 'Shippaisaku') is Touya, who's haunted by that word to the point it triggers him even when he hears it in the orphanage.
Of course you can interpret this as weakness= failure because, again, we're free to interpret things and the connection 'if you're weak you'll fail' can be done. It's not in the text since the whole thing continues with young Enji telling old Enji he has to continue cursing his true enemy, his own weakness, as this is the only thing that had kept him alive and, in the following chapter he insists he'll keep raging against himself (anger is another of Enji's themes)... but also that he must win.
Failure/fear of failure isn't really considered, not even when he lists the big four that lead to expose the weakness that was always within him...
Tumblr media
Said all this, I don't mean to say your interpretation is wrong. I'm not Horikoshi, I don't know which interpretation is right.
The fact that multiple interpretations of a manga scene can exist is what for me, makes things interesting so I'm actually grateful you shared your view with me.
I like to read of different possible readings for scenes, even when they don't match with mine and don't make me change my opinion. For me they're still interesting because they express the different ways in which things can be read.
So again, thank you for sharing your vision for your ask and for allowing me to talk again about the Todorokis as I love to do it.
Let's wait together and see if Horikoshi will give us more bits of Enji's past (or more info about the Todorokis in general, or more scenes with them at least... I'll really take anything at this point...)!
A lot of people are concerned (rightfully as I am) about Melinda. Some think she outright hates her child but I dont think thats really the case.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She very clearly loves Damian when she doesnt have her guard up, because no parent does when they just got the news their kid got kidnapped. I bet neither Yor or Twilight worried about "The Mission" when they first heard of Anya.
But when Damian mentions his father her thoughts start to contradict each other:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She is worried about him but she also doesnt care, she loves Damian but at the same time she hates him. But that isnt really possible is it?
I think she is lying to herself. Anya cant read the truth out of someone when even the person she is reading the mind of believes their own lies (as we saw with Damian's refusal of his crush).
She is trying to believe she doesnt care because that is apperantly a "burden" to her.
All this obviously have to do with Donovan Desmond as he is the reason she started spiraling.
She initially didnt think about what it meant to care about Damian when her mind was clouded with worry, she didnt have time to lie to herself, but the second Donovan is mentioned she put up those mental barriers again. But they leak.
We cant know for sure of course, but I think her situation might be similiar to Endevor's wife from MHA? Maybe not exactly but similiar.
It could be that she has a hatred for Damian because he is more concerned with making his dad happy than her, or that she hates him because she hates her husband, or she was forced to have a child with Donovan and never wanted Damian in the first place.
It could be some of these together or all of them.
Regardless, someone help Damian for the love of this manga.
It's been a while since I've expressed any opinion about recent chapters, just a post about the AFO vs All Might fight and now the Todoroki family.
I still don't regret what I said, AFO's fight against all the heroes took too long and became boring. In my opinion, it was an unnecessary to give other characters screen time, because yes, I understand that supposedly the idea is that AFO comes out more vulnerable from here, but there came a point where every chapter was the same, AFO was gaining ground and a hero came with a greater power and stopped it, to then repeat the formula. This doesn't mean that all the characters that fought are useless, that the battle would have focused on characters like Tokoyami and Jirou is perfect, because they're part of class 1A, the problem was the Shiketsu heroes' who at this point were so abandoned at the plot level that presenting them only lengthened the fight that could have been cut before. It isn't throwing hate for those who like Inasa, Cami or Shindo but these characters were so abandoned that a simple cameo in some other random fight would be enough. So yeah, the AFo fight went on too long and I feel like it delayed other issues that haven't even begun to close yet.
I feel like we've come to the temporary end of Todoroki plot. Personally I'm conflicted about this plot, on one hand, I think that this chapter is a good closure to move on to another fight, which in this case will be Toga and Ochako, but and this is where my annoyance comes from, I don't see a good way out for the Todoroki conflict or at least a satisfactory way out. The conflict that the Todoroki plot presents to us is linked to the main theme about how rotten the society of heroes is, Touya is a victim of that society, because Endeavor planned his family around the idea of creating the child who would overcome All Might to calm his ego. But in turn, the Todoroki conflict never ceased to be a strictly family one, throughout the manga Dabi has been referred by his family as a personal problem, Shoto has referred to him as the "sin of his family" (if I remember correctly), Touya's plot is designed so that he never loses that level of intimacy of being linked to Endeavor not so much as a hero but as a father and the other members of the family. Is this why I say that there is no true closure or at least a satisfactory one on this conflict because Touya was saved? what next from here?
Shoto's role, which isn't bad but isn't the best either. This is linked to the previous point and is the role that Shoto played through his family plot. Shoto and Touya are the opposite of each other, Shoto is the child or rather the perfect weapon that Endeavor always looked for and Touya became the defective child when his quirk turned harmful against himself. Even the feelings towards Endeavor are different, Touya loved his father, he sought his approval and acceptance to the point of causing himself physical harm, because in his mind (thanks to Endeavor), his only purpose was to be the one to surpass All Might and his father's love was conditioned on that requirement, his entire existence from his birth to his training was marked by that purpose, but Touya loved his father and wanted to please him. On the contrary, Shoto hated his father for the training and the way he was towards him, his mother and siblings, Shoto, no matter how much interaction with Endeavor, never considered being complacent or seeking his approval, to the point that he refused to use part of his quirk because he believed it was part of Endeavor and not him. All of this leaves you with a character build that is extremely interesting but not fully used. Shoto grows and advances in his plot but even when he takes centrality in his family's conflict he seems relegated at one point because Touya himself doesn't see Shoto as an individual but as a complement or accessory to use to hurt Endevor, most of their fights always bring up Endevor and while I understand that he's the main link between them, in a way this sometimes detracts from Shoto as a character in his plot. So far the Todoroki plot was two-part, the first with Shoto and Touya in an individual fight but that would not be closed until Endeavor, the determining factor of the entire Todoroki plot appeared, whether we like it or not. That is why while I like how Shoto was handled, I still feel that there is a certain bittersweet taste that he can't take over his role in this plot. Of course as I said before, I don't think it's the end of the arc but I'm not sure how it will continue from here.
It seems that Toga and Ochako's showdown has arrived. I think this matchup will be one of the most interesting because something that is incredible about Ochako's character is her emotional intelligence, Ochako knows how to read people and their emotions and it is because of that that I have hope and high expectations about the fight. We have seen throughout the manga how Ochako is able to understand other characters, how she empathizes with them and how her mentality changes from her desire to be a hero to helping her parents to be a hero who wants others happy, who wants to save and wonders who saves the heroes. Ochako, in addition to being an emotionally very intelligent person, also has a weakness and that is that she sees her own feelings as a burden, she's willing to carry the burden of others but not to share hers, even refusing feelings as simple as a crush. Ochako sees her feelings as obstacles and represses them, but not only on a romantic level but even her thoughts about Toga fell into this category. Horikoshi did a great job in the conversation between Uraraka and Izuku, because he raised very interesting things of both characters and brought a crucial moment to see how both see the perspective of saving the villains. At the end of war arc we have Midoriya's words "you looked like you needed saving", these words are framed in a background with the destroyed city, this is important because they mark how Midoriya can't let go of the idea of saving Tomura even contemplating the destruction. This is brought up again in the conversation where Ochako says that she looks at the city to remind herself of what her job is. Does this mean a regression of Ochako as a character? Ofc not and I will fight anyone who wants to use this against her, this phrase fits Ochako like a glove because her character is based on being practical and putting her feelings aside, she will put her own feelings aside if they seem like an obstacle, that why this talk is very valuable not only because Ochako gives Izuku the opportunity to open up and find mutual comfort in their ways of thinking, but because Ochako goes a step further and admits that she didn't understand Toga, that she talked to her but didn't consider her point of view and beliefs were. All of this is very interesting and if Horikoshi handles it well, it could lead to one of the most interesting fights and discussions in the entire manga between Ochako and Toga, for which I'm going to be cheering for these two and waiting for the next vol Ochako gets her own cover.
My last point would be Tomura and Izuku, logically I think Horikoshi will leave their confrontation for last, maybe after Ochako and Toga we could return to them but at the same time I feel that there is still a lot to tell, All Might vs AFO, we still don't know what happened to Spinner, Kurogiri and the others must have their moment and other details that need to be closed so I'm not sure when we can see them or what Horikoshi's plan is for both characters.
MHA READING EVERY VOLUME EVERY DAY WEEK 3 (15-21)
(Spoilers OBVIOUSLY)
Ok so i've not had the time to read *everyday* this week so i tried reading 15 to 18 in one day 👍 going great. Anyway
It's funny that I decided to watch the last episode of season 7 minutes before i read vol 15 because, the flashback where All might says he will change his fate with his own hand that is happening during the AFO/Iron Might fight is... is happening in vol 15. Like, the coincidence haha
SUNEATER!!! MY GUY!!!! HE'S SO COOL AND POWERFUL!!! I just love this little group of Kirishima, Amajiki and Fat Gum like. One of my favorite team of hero
And Bakugo encouraging Kirishima in his own way 🥹 Bakugo i hate you so much lol also I want to squish Kirishima's face he's so small and cute hahaha
Aizawa spends so much time saying he doesn't care for his students... but he does 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 big softie
You ever read something and you're like "i wish we got more of these characters interacting". I'm speaking about Mina and Kirishima. I would 100% read an entire manga about them
I forgot Himiko and Twice were in the fight with the Shie Hassaikai :D Himiko my giiiirl!!!!!
Everytime a gun appears in MHA i just start laughing. People have quirks and then people have guns
Also i'm so sorry but all the Star Wars references are killing me. What do you mean Mirio's special technique is called The Phantom Menace? Lololol or the city Musutafu is a reference to Mustafar (a planet in the Star Wars universe) like it's just so funny
Let me just say, Overhaul sucks as a villain, but omg his quirk is so cool and so confusing (for me), his design is nice but I HATE THIS DUDE HE SUUUUUCKS His design while he fused with one of his guy is so nasty!!! I love it!!!!
Obviously, Mirio is sooooooooooo cool!!!!! He fought for *5 minutes* ALONE. QUIRKLESS. IM LIKE WOAH. NO WONDER ERI IS GLUED TO HIM AFTER
I REALIZE I FORGOT A LOT OF WHAT HAPPENED DURING THE SHIE HASSAIKAI FIGHT??? HIMIKO TOOK DEKU'S FORM??? HUH???
Ok so Eri's quirk isn't from either her mother side or her father side but a "mutation" of a quirk that was in the family. I always find it weird when parents freaks out about their child's quirk like??? It's hereditary???
A new very detailed close up of Shigaraki's face! He looks less terrifying than the others though
Sir Nighteye laying down in the hospital bed with 20+ tubes linked to machine in his bed looks SO MUCH WORSE than the anime. I find it bordeline gruesome
And now i'm sad because of Sir Nighteye! GREAT. IM HAVING A BLAST (sarcasm)
We finally meet real Camie :D i love her way of speaking, she's confusing so many people
THE UA FESTIVAL!!! YEEESSS!!!! MORE KYOKA!!!! I love this "arc" :D Hound Dog is so funny in this.
(Omg Dark Shadow is playing the cymbal for the festival 😭😭😭💕💕💕💕 i love him so much)
FIRST HAWKS APPEARANCE LET'S GOOOOO I HATE THIS GUY!!! (/j) :DDD He looks so bored. I think it takes him 11 PANELS before he even smiles A LITTLE BIT. This man wants to be *anywhere* but at the ranking ceremony lol I didnt realize how much Hawks just looks BOOOOORED OF everything, but seems to come back online when theres a fight lol i hate SOOOO MUCH THAT HE LOOKS UP TO ENDEAVOR!!! Hawks you deserve a better role model holy shit.
I'm sorry but Shoto looking at Endevor and telling him "nice scar" essentially while the panel only shows *his* own scar while slurping noodles is just funny.
OMG FIRST NAME DROP OF TOUYA IN VOL 21 :OOOOO
SHINSOUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!! HE'S SMILING!!!!!!! THE WORLD IS BRIGHT THE BIRDS ARE SINGING YEEESSSSSS!!!!
Also why does Hawks has to look so cool 😭😭😭 i hate his ass (/lh)
___________
And that's... week 3! I was so late in my reading, i'll try to not do the same for vol 22-28! And after that... only 3 volumes (for October) i might take a small tiny break and read 32-39 closer to december so that...maybe... vol 40 will be out.
Anyway! See you...after I read volume 28
My sem break went like this, Something had changed that week, I didn’t have to wake up and leave early, I didn’t come home physically and mentally drained. I've found relaxation on things l've always loved - playing piano, ukelele, painting with my family, playing with my family and most important praying with my family. I've fought loneliness and boredom through Reading, specially the bible. For this book of the law (the bible) shall not depart out of thine mouth but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and thou shall have good success. Throughout this break I have seen the bible as my: mirror, sword, food and light. It has served as a reflection; a mirror. A sword sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even through the dividing assunder of spirit and soul, bone and marrow; a protection; a sword. It served as food for the spirit. And a light through dark times.
Everyone also begins to learn something new during the break instead of mindlessly sitting at home in front of a television or laptop, either adults or children. Everyone has their own way to commemorate the warm holiday: wether it be baking a cake, learning how to make waffles without the waffles overflowing, learning new songs on the piano or even learning to ride a bike. Short term goals are important for students due to the fact that they provide focus, motivation, and a sense of accomplishment. They break down larger tasks into manageable steps, help prioritize activities, and enables students to track progress, leading to increased productivity, efficiency, and overall success in their academic endevors.
Similarly to what I have just stated I have explored new hobbies like solving rubix cubes, playing chess, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and soccer. This has really helped me to figure out what I liked doing the most, and what I do best. Sem breaks are also a great way in order for students to learn about different cultures, make new friends and to travel different destinations.
I've also focused my attention on bonding with my family, I have found enjoyment in relaxing this sem break. My family’s bond has made the holidays more memorable. I am specially happy to see my cousins that I only see during vacations. I am also happy that we’ve had family outings as a complete family. Where we have made memories for ourselves, and we kept the love in a photograph, and time’s forever frozen still. No exams just tan lines and good times. This has made me realize how important sem breaks are .Just after tests, students are drained and uninterested in learning: therefore they require rest to improve their health and effectiveness after a hard semester of studying.
I have also started to take interest in a book called “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” where Percy Jackson who is also called the lightning thief is a light-hearted fantasy about a modern 12-year-old boy who learns that his true father is Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. Percy sets out in order to become a hero by undertaking a quest across the United States to find the entrance to the Underworld and stop a war between the gods. Along the lines of what I have said earlier The purpose of this was so that inspite of the fact that we are a different culture we can learn more of others. As to how Greek mythology was related to American culture. Where the readers accept that the novel fulfills the reader’s horizon of expectation of aesthetic enjoyment and of the incorporation of Greek mythology into real American life. This book also taught me the importance of trust and collaboration percy makes decisions throughout the novel to either choose to trust others or keep things to himself. He ultimately decides it is better to trust, despite the number of times his trust was betrayed by characters like aunty Em, Ares, and Luke.
This semestral break for me was very productive, I have also spent time with my old classmates since we had a reunion and they also introduced me to their new friends from their new school, allowing me to meet and see new faces. I also find it fun when I walk to my sister’s school to pick her up and everyone from the school greets me when I go in. I was also happy since during the semestral break I was able to teach and help my sister on her school works and glory to God she is really excelling.
I am really happy since I made up for the times I wasn’t home, I was happy since I made up for the times I wasn’t able to kiss or hug them and say I love you. I even started cooking breakfast for my family, waffles are what my family likes to eat. But they do not just love the part where they eat but also the part where we work together so that every family member gets a waffle made with love. I am contented and happy although not all days during sem break is memorable, I always told myself to enjoy because if the next quarter begins I would not be able to do things that I usually do on sem break. It is such a blessing to enjoy every second of my life during sem break.
After a week from relaxing my mind and body from stress I am hoping for another successful quarter as a g7 student. I am hoping that the sem break would help me to improve. I want to be mature enough to face all the problems and stress that I will be experiencing for the whole quarter. I really hope and pray for more wisdom knowledge and understanding I am also praying that this quarter I will start to face it as a strong student. To sum up everything that has been stated clearly “I HAD THAT END-OF-THE-SEMESTER FEELING, THE KIND THAT INSPIRES YOU TO PULL THREE ALL-NIGHTERS IN A ROW IF THAT’S WHAT IT TAKES TO JUST BE FINISHED”- Rachel Held Evans
Blog #2
For this week’s blog post the only thing I can think about is Jordan Peele’s Nope. We recently watched, well re-watched, the movie Nope and further discussed the themes presented.. When I first watched this movie I thought it was just his take on an alien sci-fi movie and that was that. I will admit I went into the theater expecting some deeper meanings and was a little confused and felt like the movie was anti-climactic. While Professor Due was going in details about the various themes and symbols throughout the movie, it felt like a lightbulb went off in my head and everything clicked. The first instance of this was the toxic allure of Hollywood. I had not picked up on the monster being Hollywood picking chewing you up and spitting you out. Not only was that a major theme in the plotline, but it also reflected on Jordan Peele’s own experience and feelings towards being successful in Hollywood as a Black man. This of course ties into another major event in the movie which is the plot with Gordy the monkey. While I watched the movie I could see the idea of how they used the monkey and the horses as these caged animals plucked out of their natural habitat and trained to perform and how it reflects not only animals but people and trauma. A big give away was the popping of the balloons and how it sounded like gunshots that triggered PTSD. This could be compared to veterans and people who have PTSD for wars or other traumatic events like even slaves being brought overseas by force.
This was one of the major ideas that stood out to me along with the overall idea as to how important family and community is. The idea that family and community are important is an idea that I’ve grown up with and recently learned is common amongst Black communities. In my previous class “Intro to Black Studies,” we discussed the importance of family and community as it was a form of resistance for Black people. By developing a culture/community, it gave Black people the abilitiy to prove that they are a human beings within a system that treats them otherwise. Families were an important anchor that slave owners couldn’t control. These same ideas can be applied to Nope and the theme of family being important. They stick together as a family and strive to keep their family business alive. OJ is trying to keep his father’s legacy alive while Emerald is trying to support the family business as much as she can while also focusing on other endevors. In the end they have to work together as family and survive this alien monster (Hollywood) together as a community. That community also includes their new friend Angel, who’s name Professor Due also mentioned could be a nod toward him being a “guiding Angel.”
Exploring all these themes within Nope definitely led to me gaining new respect and appreciation for the movie and all the messages within it. Contrary to my initial thoughts on the movie, there are so many ideas, symbolisms, and themes that I barely scratched the surface of in this blog post.
Shoto never realizes Dabi is Toya and believes he is Izuku half brother and Endevor and Inko love child.
Shoto and Endeavor are both face blind so neither realizes that he is Touya.
But Shoto has so many theories on the Midoriya family.
Like Dabi is obviously a love child between Endeavor and Inko, from before Enji and Rei got married. He is kind concerned on how that effects his relationship with Izuku but decides it's fine.
Izuku is All Might's love child, which is obvious with how the two interact, the similar quirks, and the wild hair.
Toga's father is Vlad King, cause they both have blood related quirks, sharp teeth and paler features(for the most part).
He hasn't determined who Tenko's father is yet but it's for sure not any of the previously mentioned heroes.
Obviously Mrs Midoriya was a hero groupie back in the day, or maybe was a former hero herself. Shoto has yet to decide
Chapter 66 spoilers under cut.
Guys... I think Melinda and Donovan are in different political camps.
There are several reasons why family members become estranged from one another (abuse, religious differences, cultural differences, etc), but the fact that Melinda is estranged from her sons and her husband speaks volumes.
My evidence comes solely from Shopkeeper.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His expression isn't entirely telling, but considering his reaction to Yor's statement about Loid's interest in the National Unity Party (NUP) is more...negative, we can infer that while he's tolerant of the conservative factions, he's not open to the NUP.
This could just be something to make us worry about Twilight, but it would be a shame to not devel into the political angle of this spy comedy.
Somewhere a while ago, I saw a post on here about a kind of reveal that would be interesting: Yor and Loid realizing they have different political views and learning to live with each other in the fall out. What if Endo-sensei is deciding to go this route in a weird way.
Until this point (at least based on Yor's political knowledge in this chapter), Yor had been pretty apolitical all her life - probably steming from her work as an assassin and not having time to be involved in political endevors. Now she's getting involved in a group with political leanings: the Lady Patriots - a "conservative" probably moderate group. She's going to be exposed to things and may take them at face value because she doesn't know better.
Twilight, as a Westali, probably holds political beliefs similar to his country of allegence - ones that he showed in Mission 3 when he took Yor and Anya to a political rally. That political group was called the Nationalist Party and was pro-peace. But because he needs to get closer to Donovan Desmond, he's willing to attend or show interest in the NUP - a more extreme, pro-war wing political group. Even if he doesn't share their beliefs, attending is a sign of support to an outsider.
This is clearly going to cause some tension. Especially if Shopkeeper is wary and Even more so if Loid finds himself in the position where he needs to step in and protect Yor from Melinda.
Tumblr media
This could possibly get messy, fast. A cold war between countries is one thing. A Cold War in the Forger Home could be disastrous.
Not to mention the competition Anya has just started with her mother because she's afraid she's useless to her father unless she can get along with Damian. (When in all likelihood, Twilight is going to utilize all three plans to his advantage and isn't canning any of them, especially with Anya's new found motivation).
Something is brewing in the Forger Home and I'm very concerned about it.
hawks with endevour daughter plsss and Endevor finding out via finding them Making out if something would he be happy that reader is at least with a hero and maybe reader has ice or fire power (ie Not a complete disappointment to Endevor and is also in the hero field )
Fem!reader is what I was assuming since you said daughter? I hope you love it, you're my first ask! Thanks so much for requesting! This is another post I don't want minor interaction on, slightly spicy content below the cut!
Daughter?! (Hawks x Reader) drabble
Enji Todoroki had four kids that the media saw. After Touya was born, Rei was pregnant with an accidental child, a girl. He sent her away to a prep school for hero training in the States. She did all of her upbringing there, Rei and Enji visited once a year around Christmas, but otherwise she was unseen from their lives. Once she was old enough, a young pro hero, she left the prep school and moved close to home in an apartment, opening her own agency with the money she made working in the states as a young pro before moving.
Steadily she has climbed the social ladder, unknown to be Endeavor’s daughter. He keeps a close eye but has little to do with her, though he admires how quickly she has sailed into the pro hero top 10. With a combined fire and water quirk she is able to not only use both but also combine the two and interact as a misted object. She rests comfortably at number three after her debut knocked Best Jeanest down. Not only has she caught the eye of all of Japan but also the number 2 pro, Hawks.
“Hey hey y/n, slow down.” Hawks sputtered as you pulled him down the hallway of your agency. You turned and looked over your shoulder. “Quit being so tense Keigo.” you laughed. When you got to your door, you let the two of you inside, shutting the door behind you. As soon as the door was shut, Keigo pinned you against it.
“Who’s tense now birdy.” he cooed, kissing your neck. You moved to your desk and hopped against the wood, sliding onto the top. He followed, wings puffed around him, actively hunting. You let out a squeak as he grabbed you, pulling your ass to the edge of the desk. “I waited the entire awards show for this.” he growled, grinding down against you.
You let out a wanton moan and met his hips. “Fuck birdbrian, tell me how bad you need it.” you played. He growled in response, moving his lips to yours, kissing you passionately. Your tongues meshed and danced together, fighting for dominance. Your tossed your hands into his hair, biting down on his bottom lip.
He began to unbutton your top as you heard the door creek open. “Y/n, I needed to,” the voice began cut off abrupting by you screaming. Hawks flared his wings to cover the both of you. He whipped his head over his shoulder to see none other than his idol and friend, Endeavor.
“Come on man, I’m a little busy here.” he laughed awkwardly, obviously annoyed by the intrusion. “Y/n!” Endeavor shouted, turning around from the scene. “Dad! Why didn’t you knock!” You screamed back. “Dad?!?” Hawks shouted looking back at you with wide, frightened eyes.
“I thought your only daughter was Fuyumi!” Hawks shouted again, looking back to Endeavor. “It’s a long story.” you said, yanking your shirt back together. “I just needed to ask you to come to dinner, Fuyumi asked me to invite you, it’s tonight.” Endeavor stumbled over his own words, still facing away from the scene. “Yeah sure, give me a minute though.” You grumbled.
Endeavor walked towards the door, beginning to shut it behind him. “Hawks can come.” he said, obviously lost for words and jumbled in embarrassment. “Close my door!” you screamed, throwing a pen at him. He slammed the door and you looked back at Hawks.
“Dad??” Hawks said again. “Distant, absent father?” you shrugged. He rolled his eyes and smiled. “So, where were we?” he asked, nipping back at your neck. “Sorry we have plans.” you kissed him and hopped off the desk. “We?” he said, exasperated. “You heard the man, you’re invited to dinner.” you laughed. “This is going to be so awkward.”
enji is not going to be redeemed even the narrative shows that he isn't even if shoto brought back his son. that would not take away all the horrible things hes done. as dabi said that the past never dies moving forward and being a hero will never erased his sins, his sins cannot be erased. if dabi is going to face punishment and so is endevor.
Okay, let's make something clear. Being redeemed is just a way of saying that a character is becoming a better person because they have the chance to do so.
Facing justice, in this case, is a vital part of getting redeemed. Because they are paying for what they did instead of pushing the blame onto others or running away from their past. There's no possible redemption for Dabi and Enji if justice is not involved, being honest.
I think a redemption for Enji would be in the form of quiting his hero job in order to try and help his family. It could be by staying away from the ones who doesn't want him in their lives while also being present in the lives of those who want him. That redemption would mean that he is finally priorizing his family and not his job, and therefore leaving his ego behind. Enji must be Enji, the father and husband and civilian, if he wants his family back. He cannot keep being just Endeavor, the one who still believes that his family will be better if he keeps being a hero #1.
If Endeavor is getting redeemed or not, we don't know yet. I can speculate that yes, he's gonna get on the road to redemption, but not completely redeemed. Horikoshi is going to show us he has a long way to go without telling if he will be able to make it or not. He must try, it doesn't matter what the future brings.
Why? Because bnha is telling you: "Listen, there's still a way. You can be a better person right now and it won't erase your past, but it'll certainly make the future more pleasant". Heroes try to save everyone, even villains. So Shouto's victory would be complete once he finds a way to bring his father and his brother back to the light.
Believe me, the narrative would benefit from keeping both Touya and Enji alive more than it'd be killing them.
We never knew about Dabi’s character, the very thing to notice is that in is how much Dabi’s entire character arc is tied to the todoroki storyline. We never knew much of Dabi until Shoto or Endevor came around Without those two The Dabi is a todoroki theory would not be possible. come to think of it We learned about Dabi perspective because shoto is around.
We knew more about Dabi when the todorokis came around we know a little more about him like the Crucial stuff like his name and fate but not his character. Even when the Dabi is a todoroki theory came out as true we still didn’t get info on his perspective.
One thing is that we don’t know so much is on Dabi as a person If you think about it we only knew Touya from the Todorokis perspective this caused the fandom to call touya an evil nasty kid who is allways psycotic and a misygonist becuase of the way he acted towards shoto,rei and fuyumi this proved that they were seeing touya in the todorokis perspective not touyas himself.
No one understood how much guilt he felt for attacking shoto and the guilt of what he said to rei. When Dabi is talking to Shoto we see insight of dabis perspetive its evident that he loves his family hes hurt that his family moved on without him that part shows more than just his tunnle vision towards endevoir. Hes hurt that his family didn’t notice him but he noticed that his family were victims of the abuse as well that was the nuances that people didn’t understand in Dabi’s character. Then we finally got Dabi perspective, We finally know what touya is like he is not difined by wanting his father to notice him, We also learned that he cared about his family and that he felt guilt for what hes done and said to them. He sees how his death didn’t change the family It was still a abusive household.
this is radically different from the fandoms opinions on the todoorkis perspetives on touya that chapter it disaproves peoples assumptions on touya.If you consider the small things in the todoroki perpetive you know a little more about him as a character but instead you judged him based on the assumptions endevor had about him.
No one saw how much pain Dabi was in until the chapter rolled around. horikoshi carefully crafted different perspetives in one arc. the todoroki storyline is the cumilation of all of the perspetives into one with touya being a great example of this.
